About Dayna

I am a 40-something professional with a passion for traveling the world. That’s me…over there to the left.

My spark for traveling the world was ignited when I was in the military and stationed overseas. I absolutely loved living in foreign countries and I tried my best to take advantage of every opportunity I had to travel somewhere new. I am no longer in the military, but that fire is still burning strong. It is my own personal mission to see and experience as many different countries and cultures as I possibly can. I have been to 38 countries (and counting…) and I am always planning my next destination!

I love to travel with my wonderful husband, family, and friends. And as a new parent, I’m committed to keeping my passion for travel a reality.  I hope I can inspire you to instill wanderlust in your families too.

My travel destinations have been widely varied, ranging from relaxing beach locales to exciting outdoor adventures. Sometimes I get caught up in the touristy attractions and other times I find myself off the beaten path. On one vacation I am taking a refreshing dip in the Red Sea and on the next I am starting the 4 day hike to Machu Picchu via the Inca Trail. If I haven’t been there yet, it is probably somewhere I would like go go!

Wonderful Dayna! Although I still desire to travel, I’ll be content satisfying my wanderlust vicariously through you and Rob as you globe trot! Thanks for thinking of me. John

  2. I love your blog. It’s a great format and I love some of the widgets you use! Did you make that map yourself? I’ve been looking for an interactive one I can add. Like you, I’m hoping to eventually color in the whole thing 🙂

  3. Love your map above. It’s awesome. This past weekend, I sat on a Southwest flight, and their snack napkins had a map of the United States (at least the contiguous ones). So I promptly took out my pink highlighter and filled in the states I had visited. Thanks for stopping by my blog to read about my addition of yet another state this past weekend.

Dayna – Thank you so much for inviting me to your blog! Love the platform: the layout, theme, etc… great photos and descriptions. I have been very bad about documenting my travels, my only attempt at it was in 2009 during my summer in Rwanda; this is what came out of it: http://tiscattero.wordpress.com/. Just came back from Copenhagen and Stockholm and definitely recommend it. Miss you too!!!! Cesar

    • Thanks for following my blog Cesar! I hope you are doing well. Will you be stopping by the Court anytime in the near future?

You should definitely pick up blogging again. I really wish I had started doing this a lot sooner as a way to document my travel experiences.

    • Thanks for stopping by Harry! I actually lived in Korea for 3 years (a long time ago), but I have not had a chance to blog about it yet. I would love to go back to Asia and visit more countries. It is definitely on my list!!

    Dear Dayna,
My name is Asta and I work in a travel agency in Norway. I was wondering if you have an e-mail address where I could contact you?
